Winter storm warning issued

The National Weather Service, Spokane, early
this morning upgraded a winter weather advisory
issued yesterday to a winter storm warning for
heavy snow through 4 p.m. today.
The warning calls for snow accumulations of four
to seven inches, with the heaviest snow falling
in the morning hours before tapering off this
afternoon and possibly turning to rain in areas
including Sandpoint and Newport.
Road conditions are expected to be treacherous
for the morning commute, with hazardous
conditions expected through early afternoon.
