Not all Trick
or Treaters in Boundary County last
night were ghastly; some just couldn't
be cuter! |
Some were
even cuter than cute! |
|
|
But as the
night wore on, even the cute began
looking scary! |
Normally
totally cute, Jessica began looking a
little scary. Jasper, however, was scary
from the outset. |
|
|
Some, such as
Minty Mint, who is Mr. Mint's sister,
made you feel as if you were dancing in
Candyland ... |
Or that
Princess Frostine could make all your
wishes come true ... |
|
|
... But then
you went to a door answered by blue and
purple haired ladies, and you wondered
if the story of Hansel and Gretel might
be true ... "Come in, my little sweets"
said Mona and Olivia. |
"You don't
mind if we lay on your floor? Over the
heater vent? Do you have a blanket?
We're cold" Olivia and Sophie asked.
"Here, take some sweets," Mona said. "We
're looking for someone a little more
lively!" |
|
|
And just when
you thought it was safe, when your world
settled once again to the same, dull but
predictable routine, you walked in to
Papa Byrd's Bistro. "Hello! May we serve
you? Hahahahaha!"
"Yes, I'll have a calzone," you say,
"And iced tea."
"Hahahaha!"
And you just have time to think, "What
did she mean when she said, 'serve me?'"
Here you go, Calzone boy! hahahaha! |
Meanwhile,
over on First and Main, I was waitin'
for the deal to go down. I'm a nice guy,
I try to be, anyway. Two things you
don't mess with, in order, there's my
family, then there's me. Now gimme some
candy, and ferget I was here. Capiche?"
|
|
|
"I don't want
candy," Emily said. "I'd take an aspirin
or two if you have them. The pain in my
head is just piercing! If you have one,
ma'am, would you give my monkey a
banana?" |
"Yes, we have
no bananas," Kristie said, |
|
|
"But I need a
banana!" Reinna said.
"B A N A N A!" |
"I haven't a
banana either," said Shayla. "Come, I
have pudding." |
|
|
"Pudding?
Speak well, Lady, for we want pudding." |
"We too!
Things 2 and 1!" said. "Uh, oh ... we're
getting sleepy, the night is wearing
thin ... must ... have ... banana
pudding ... oh! We're called to our
beds, that we might wake in the morn in
a world more familiar, where we might go
to school and learn and greet our
friends! And Corey? Nearly 20 pounds of
treats?
We're all coming over, and you'd better
share.
Hahahahahaaa!
