Family and friends are on the
look-out for a Moyie Springs teen who went
missing from her home this morning. A missing
person report has been filed with the sheriff's
office, but the girl will be listed as a runaway
until 48 hours pass, when her status will be
changed to missing if she hasn't returned home.
According to her parents, 15 year-old Deya Avery
left the home at about 11:30 a.m. today with a
person or persons unknown and has not been seen
since. Her mother, Tia Avery, said she left for
a few minutes to take her husband Jeff his lunch
at work, and when she returned home, she noticed
a fresh set of tire tracks in the drive and Deya
gone.
The clothes she'd been wearing this morning were
in the girl's room, so she doesn't even know
what the teen was wearing.
A neighbor told of seeing a car pull out of the
drive onto Elk Street and drive toward Highway
95, but did not get a description of the
vehicle, nor the direction the vehicle traveled
once it reached the highway.
Deya is described as having blonde hair, hazel
eyes, she's five-foot four inches tall and of
slim build.
"I just hope she's with someone we know," Tia
said. "I'm scared to death she might have been
taken by someone she chatted with on the
Internet."
Anyone with any information on Deya Avery's
whereabouts is asked to call the Boundary County
Sheriff's Office, (208) 267-3151, extension
zero. If you see what may be an abduction, call
911. Those with information can also call the
Avery family, (208) 267-5495 or (208) 946-6108.
"We just want her home safe," her family said.
