Naples General Store holds back-to-school
contest
|
August 25, 2012 |
The folks at Boundary county's oldest retail
business want to make the high cost of back to
school a bit easier for a deserving local family
nominated by you!
The chosen family will win school supplies, clothing
and accessories.
To nominate a deserving family, all you have to
do is write a letter that includes the family's
name and address, the names and ages of their
children and an explanation of why you feel they
are the most deserving.
Drop the letter off at Naples General Store, 517
Deep Creek Loop, Naples, by September 1. If
you'd like, the nomination letter can be
anonymous.
The Naples General Store has been in business
deep in the heart of Naples, Idaho, since 1893,
the year the diesel engine was patented, that
Thomas Edison finished work on the phonograph,
Grover Cleveland became the most rotund U.S.
President so far and the U.S. Supreme Court made
one of its most profound rulings, legally
declaring that a tomato is, in fact, a
vegetable.
As it's been since its founding, the store today
remains a true general store, still having its
old-fashioned charm and offering just about
anything you might need, from groceries to gas,
fishing gear to plumbing parts and just about
everything in between.
Nowadays, though, you can even get a tan in one
of their tanning beds, a hand-dipped ice cream
cone or your favorite DVD.
The Naples General Store, where community
becomes family, is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Monday through Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
on Sunday.
