July 20, 2012 |
Idaho Transportation Department officials
announced today that the Highway 95 realignment
project will open to traffic on Friday, July 27.
The $98 million project was officially dedicated
June 29. Construction of such a byway had been
under discussion since the 1940s.
The project, one of the largest single projects
in the state, consists of 2.1 miles of new
alignment connecting U.S. 95 from the northern
end of the Long Bridge to Idaho 200 and U.S. 95
north of Sandpoint. The project included six
bridges, 65 retaining walls, and a
pedestrian/bike pathway. |
