Bomb threat closes BFHS
|
May 29, 2012 |
With the final day of school just two days away
for seniors and today a day for final tests,
Bonners Ferry High School had to be evacuated
and school canceled for the day after a bomb
threat was called in to the sheriffs office.
The threat was phoned in at 10:03 a.m., and
school was placed on lockdown and Highway 95
closed while police and deputies conducted a
search of the premises.
No explosives were found, but students were sent
home early while emergency responders remained
on-site to secure the building and ensure the
safety of school personnel.
School is slated to be back in session at its
normal time on Wednesday, and the seniors may
have to come back to school next week to make up
for the loss of classes today.
An investigation to learn the identity of the
caller. |
