Super 1 job fair at Job Service tomorrow |
April 11, 2012 |
The Idaho Department of Labor will hold a Super
1 Grocery job fair at the Bonners Ferry Job
Service from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, as Super
1 seeks to fill as many as 100 positions in time
for their grand opening in mid-June. Once the positions are all filled, it's estimated that Boundary County will see about a two-percent drop in the local unemployment rate. Super 1 Bonners Ferry manager Jeff Hamley and five staff members will be on hand to pre-screen applicants, which means they will have the opportunity to meet each applicant. A second pre-screening day will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Since Job Service began taking applications March 26, around 350 people have picked up applications, so tomorrow and Saturday should be a pretty busy days! After the job fair, Hamley and his staff will review the applications and begin scheduling formal job interviews. Super 1 Foods Bonners Ferry, which will be store number 12 for the McIntire family of Hayden, is aiming at opening their full-service grocery around June 13 on the South Hill where the Lantern Motel and the KOA campground once stood. In addition to the approximately 100 new employees, several Bonners Ferry residents currently working in their Sandpoint store will be given the opportunity to transfer closer to home. |
