Unseasonal weather means road closures imminent |
February 2, 2012 |
Due to the weather forecast, Boundary County
Road and Bridge personnel are anticipating soft
road bed conditions to occur in some areas over
the next week. Crew will be inspecting roads over the weekend and some closures are possible. Watch for ROAD CLOSED signs, and expect enforcement to begin within 24 hours of sign placement. Although faxed notices of road closures will be sent to those requesting them, this is done on an intermittent basis as a courtesy. It would be wise to call ahead on roads you are planning to haul on. Once the signs are in place you can be cited for violations. Currently the fine for hauling on a closed road is $300. You could also be found responsible for damage done to the roadway and this can be expensive. To find out if a road you are planning to haul on is open or closed, call road and bridge at (208) 267-3838. The county website, www.boundarycountyid.org, will be updated as information becomes available, but there may be a lag from the times road closure signs go up before the information is posted. |
