At 16 years old, Shane Sater, Bonners Ferry,
successfully completed his fist solo flight and
three landings and take offs before arriving
safely back at the airport.
Shane, the son of John Sater, was first inspired
to fly at the age of six by his grandfather, who
was building a Falco home-built airplane in the
basement.
Shane’s next goal is to complete his private
pilot training so he can take his dad for a
flight.
The holiday season is upon us. The mad dash is
on to get the latest, greatest gifts and bake
the best cookies and make the finest meals of
the year. If you feel like you need a little
break, take to the skies and get above it all!
The cold, crisp air on these blue-bird days is
perfect for leaving the mayhem behind and
enjoying the peace and joy of flying.
If you are looking for that perfect gift from a
local business, Northern Air offers gift
certificates for any provided services such as
scenic flights, introductory flight lessons,
aircraft rental, or even aircraft maintenance.
Ground school is starting on January 5. This
course will equip students with the knowledge
required to take the private pilot FAA written
exam.
Classes will be held on Thursday evenings from
5:30 to 8:30,and last 15 weeks. For more
information or to sign up for the course call or
stop by Northern Air (208) 267 4359, or visit
www.northernair.biz.
The local EAA club would like to thank all the
applicants for the Youth Aviation Scholarship.
Remember to be at the airport on December 13 for
interviews!
