Studded tires okay in
Idaho, Montana

October 13, 2011 |
While they're not recommended until conditions
warrant, it became legal in Idaho and Montana to
put on studded snow tires October 1. Those
driving in Washington and Oregon have to wait
until November 1.
According to the Idaho Transportation
Department, snow has already fallen in some
areas at high elevations, but putting on the
studded tires should be delayed as long as
possible to keep road damage to a minimum.
"All-season tires, with good tread, or studless
snow tires work well in most driving
conditions," the ITD said in a recent press
release. |
