The hot summer sun is
finally shining down on beautiful Bonners Ferry!
The huckleberries are ripe
and on Saturday, June 30, they were loaded into
the pancakes for the third huckleberry pancake
feast of the summer at the
Boundary County
Airport. If you missed this one, the
next breakfast will be held on August 27. It’s a
great feast for just $5, and the proceeds will
go into a flight scholarship for a local high
school student.

There are three new pilots in our midst. Jeremy
Belford-Cave of
Australia
and Dave Noel of Bonners Ferry both successfully
completed their private pilot check-rides on
August 2, and Heather Vergie of
Creston,
British Columbia, completed hers on August
9.
Jeremy arrived from
Australia
to begin his training with Northern Air in June,
2011 and after only 52 is now a certified pilot.
He plans to move right into
his instrument rating and then his commercial
pilot license before heading home this fall.
Dave Noel began his dream
of flight 34 years ago when he took his first
flight lesson.
This winter he knuckled
down and decided to finish his training at
Northern Air. It’s going to be hard to keep him
on the ground now!

Heather Vergie did her first solo flight at
Northern Air on October 21 last year and after a
winter of hard work and practice, she is a
pilot.
She and her husband will
now have to decide what type of bush plane to
buy for their hunting trips.
It’s a beautiful time of
year to take a flight and see the mountain lakes
that surround us, not to mention, it’s a lot
cooler up there!
Stop by Northern Air at the
Boundary County
Regional Airport
for a flight seeing tour, an introductory flight
lesson, or just a cold, refreshing ice cream
cone!
