A sleek jet,
belonging to Anheuser-Busch, recently
graced the runway at Boundary County
Airport. |
There were plenty visitors
to the Boundary
County Airport
lately.
Last month the first
huckleberry pancake breakfast of the season went
off without a hitch, and despite the rainy
weather, there was a good turnout of locals and
out-of-towners.
The next huckleberry
pancake feed will be June 25, 8-10:30 a.m. at
the airport.
Bring $5 and have yourself
a feast!
Last week Governor Butch
Otter arrived at the
Boundary
County Regional
Airport
in a Beechcraft King Air, supported by two Black
Hawk helicopters from the Army National Guard.
The governor was here to inspect the high water
levels and potential flooding of the
Kootenai River.
Going up for the inspection were Bonners Ferry
Mayor Dave Anderson and County Commissioiner Dan
Dinning.
Prior to that, a
three-engine Falcon 900 jet, owned by
Anheuser-Busch (above), brought in its
employees to inspect the hops farms near
Porthill.
The metallic blue
Bell
430 helicopter owned by Hagadone Corporation in
Coeur d’Alene dropped in
for a visit. We even had a yearling moose check
out the Northern Air parking lot ... Thanks to
the new fence, he wasn’t able to get on to the
runway!

Jeremy
Belford-Cave |
Our newest visitor is Jeremy Belford-Cave from
Australia.
Jeremy is a student pilot and will be training
with us for the summer. Jeremy toured several
flight schools in the United States last fall
before deciding on taking his training at
Northern Air. He plans on getting his private
pilot license, instrument rating, as well as his
commercial license right here in Bonners Ferry.
He is obviously a man of
fine discernment.
The Young Eagles flight day
sponsored by the local EAA chapter will be held
on July 16 from
8:30
to noon
(if it rains the date will change to the 23rd).
EAA pilots will give FREE
FLIGHTS to KIDS
between the ages of 8-17 who haven’t flown
before.
Come out and let your kids
experience the thrill of flight!
Stop by Northern Air during the week or on
Saturdays for an ice cream, a scenic flight,
introductory lesson or just for a visit! (208)
