Monster basket being raffled for Child Advocacy

April 5, 2011
A gift basket so big it had to be wheeled into the back door of the courthouse Monday on a handtruck is being raffled off to raise money for Children's Advocacy in Boundary County.

The basket, on display through Thursday outside the Victim's Services Office on the lower floor of the county court house, will be traveling to various locations throughout the community over the next several days before someone gets to take it home.

The wicker basket, big enough to serve as a family laundry basket, is stuffed beyond full. Inside is a blue stuffed bear, family movie ticket, a certificate for a family pizza night, a rug-hook craft kit, a checkers set with a leather board, a fur blanket, a Farkle game, mosaic crafts, a popcorn bowl complete with salt and pepper shakers and microwave popcorn, two cans of Pringles chips, four decks of playing cards, a book cover, two puzzles, a Yahtzee game, a set of Big Beast squirt guns, a jar of assorted candy, a beverage dispenser with candy, the DVD movies Pelican's Brief, Meet the Parents, Garfield and The Green Mile, two bubble sticks, a popcorn maker, two packages of lemonade, a golf puzzle, a checkers and tic tac toe kit, a green lounging pillow and a set of family tickets to Silverwood.

In all, the basket is valued at $500, and tickets are only $2 each or six for $10. Tickets are available at the Liberty Gas Station on the South Hill, the Boundary County Coalition for Families, Chic n'Chop Restaurant, and at the Victim's Services office. To find out more, call Peggy, (208) 267-7334.
