Months of hard work culminated in the glamor and talent of the 2011 Bonners Ferry Distinguished Young Woman program (formerly Junior Miss) Saturday evening in the Becker Auditorium at Bonners Ferry High School, once again showing off the spirit and dedication of the young women who call our community home. The program raised over $12,000, all of which goes to scholarships. You've met the winner and runners up, but every young lady who took the stage was a star. Winning the Spirit of DYW award, voted on by her peers, was Maryrose Hanson. McKenzie Moore won the "Be Your Best Self" award, Lexi Wages-Shutes won the grueling interview portion of the program, Meg Newell won the talent award, Krystal Flory won the fitness award, Sorrell Gibbins the self expression award. In scholastics, Caitlyn Alexander won first and Katrina Svec won second. |
