Grandstanding on refugee issue wastes taxpayer dollars |

December 21, 2015 To the Editor: As no refugees were slated to be resettled in Boundary County, the efforts by our commissioners to refuse them services is nothing but political grandstanding. The time spent crafting the resolution was a waste of taxpayer dollars. Time and energy would be better spent addressing problems that actually exist. (Racism and religious intolerance might be a good place to start.) It's unfortunate our county commissioners are reluctant to face the challenge of thoughtful, measured decision making. Knee jerk reactionism is rarely productive. Jennifer Durbin |
