Agrees with commissioners |

December 15, 2015 To the Editor; My name is Kirk Dixon. With this posting, I do not speak for my wife, Devonna Dixon. I am a refugee. I grew up within the United States of America. I grew up in the middle of the United States of America, in Iowa. I moved to California in the late-early 70's and spent approximately 13-14 years there. I learned the true meaning of "political correctness." To some people there, I was an import. After years of depression, the good point was meeting Devonna. I understand others' opinion on this issue of refugees. Just think about it. Who helped create combat in Iraq and Afghanistan? Are you on a no- fly list? Here in Bonners Ferry, other than Dish and Direct TV, where is our information coming from? The translator only gives what it is allowed (due to regulations. Check out my sign in front of our house). This is our country and county and community. Back to the refugee statement. I agree with the commissioners. Think about it, I grew up in Iowa. Left Iowa for California for misunderstood reasons. Got here in Boundary County in 1993--for a reason. We respect and love this community. We do not have children.(We've thought about it, children, then kids, dependents, now?). Times have changed since we were back then. We all have to look at it for what it IS, (weird isn't it). This is a gem-in-the-rough community. Kirk Dixon |
