Thank you for support during loss |
March 4, 2012 |
Thank you to family, friends, the Bonners Ferry
United Methodist Church and Nazarene Church
congregations and the Bonners Ferry Community
for your compassion, visits, food, calls, cards,
gifts, flowers, firewood, and paying your
respects by coming to Derrick’s memorial service
and in other ways. The outpouring of love to my family and me has been, and is, uplifting during this difficult time. Thank you to the search and rescue team who found Derrick. Thank you to Sean McCoy, who I understand, was part of that team and initially—I was told—knew only that, “he was some mother’s son” and with that thought treated him with the respect this mother’s heart appreciates very much. No one knows what the next moment will bring in life and how long our loved ones will be with us. However much all who knew and loved Derrick would like to turn back time to prevent his early passing; we are nonetheless grateful for Derrick having been in our lives for as long as he was. I know I am a better person for Derrick being in my life. In tribute to Derrick’s memory may we all consider the value and importance of loving kindness and perhaps practice this with one another more often than less as this can make all the difference in our world. Thank you. |
