Family Fun Night offers more than ever

Defrost the car, bundle the kids, pack-up
grandma and head to Family Night at the Festival
of Trees Friday, December 13 in the Memorial
Hall at the Boundary County Fairgrounds!
Family Night starts at 4 p.m. and lasts until 7
p.m. Some (those who live in the South) might
argue that 4 p.m. is afternoon, not night, but
we who live in the North know when night begins.
It begins at 4 p.m.
Santa knows also! He will be the man sitting in
a corner at Memorial Hall in a warm, large, red
suit with a full beard the color of the elusive
white caribou. He says very little. Usually
short sentences such as, “Young man, what would
you like for Christmas?” followed by a “Ho! Ho!
Ho!”
It is much the same response given the child by
their parents when the child boldly proclaims
his coveted Christmas present of the year.
All the decorated Christmas trees will be in
lighted and in full glory. With over 800 lights
twinkling on each tree, Memorial Hall has become
Christmas Land. Trees, stockings and wreaths are
cleverly decorated giving mom and dad ideas for
their own trees. Children are awed by the sheer
number of decorations on each tree and the
presents underneath the green boughs.
All night long, Christmas songs and
instrumentals by local musicians provide
background music.
A new addition this year is the craft’s table
where children can create a crafts project to
take home.
Children and adults a like always enjoy the
beautifully decorated Christmas Cookies
furnished by Boundary Community Hospital’s
Nutritional Services Department.
Following Family Night, the next night is
Festival of Trees Gala where the trees and all
the donated items will be auctioned to the
highest bidder.
Cost for admission is $5 per family or canned
goods for the Ministerial Association’s
Christmas Food Baskets that distributed in the
community each Christmas.
