Come one, come all to a frolicking Madrigal
Event to take place at The Pearl Theater!
Just what is a madrigal dinner?
It’s a party in the Renaissance style with
comedy ala Shakespearian times, pop music of the
time (madrigals), dances performed to the music,
a recorder consort (the flutes of the period
with cello and percussion), elaborate costumes,
raucous toasts made with wassail (a spiced
cider), and for dinner: succulent drumsticks,
ribs, sausages, corn on the cob, new potatoes,
and rum cake to feast upon with only your
fingers and a knife!
The Pearl Theater presents this event with
multiple options.
Saturday, November 9, at 6:30 p.m. is the only
performance with the full dinner. Tickets are
$27 for the dinner, wassail, dessert, and
performance.
These tickets are available at Bonners Books in
Bonners Ferry and must be purchased no later
than 5 p.m. Thursday, November 7.
On Sunday, November 10, both shows at 1:30 and 5:30
p.m. will be presented with dessert and
wassail included for $16.
These tickets are available at Bonners Books and
at the door.
Balcony seating for all three shows is $10 at
the door (performance only).
Director for the Madrigal Event is Vicki Blake
Thompson, and the choreographer is Irina
Riverman. Chef is Nancy Meadows Langley of
“Naughty Cakes."
Performers include eight singers, an acting
company of nine, the dancers of the new Bonners
Ferry “Over the Moon Dance Company," and five
instrumentalists.
The Pearl Theater is located on 7160 Ash Street
in Bonners Ferry, just south of the Kootenai
River Inn and Casino. |
