Studded snow tires legal beginning October 1:
Snowstorms may not be part of the immediate
weather forecast, but October 1 marks the date
for legal use of studded snow tires in Idaho. |

The Idaho Department of Labor is launching a
third round of industry sector grants of up to
$250,000 each to help employers develop training

Last Friday, September 25, the Boundary County Sheriff's Office
announced that a body had been recovered from a remote region of
Boundary County. |
Local firefighters to sponsor
National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
observance:
Every October, the National Fallen Firefighters
Foundation (NFFF) sponsors the official national
tribute to all firefighters who died in the line of duty during
the previous year. |

Burn permits not being issued:
Burn permits are not being issued in Boundary
County at this time, according to information
from the Idaho Department of Lands, with the
exception of specific agricultural burns. |

Highway 95 resurfacing project near Sagle
cancelled for 2015:
After being scheduled, then rescheduled,
postponed, and then finally started, the
on-again, off-again chip seal resurfacing
project on six miles of U.S. Highway 95 near
Sagle has now been cancelled for this year. |

school district students and staff:
Everyone in the community knows about the School Board and
district trustees, the Superintendent and the Parent / Teacher
Organizations that are a part of individual schools; but what

Candidates filed for Bonners Ferry mayor,
city council elections:
City elections are coming up for Bonners Ferry
in about two months. Set for Tuesday, November
3, this election will determine the mayor of Bonners Ferry, and
will fill three of the four City Council positions. |

possible, but good progress continues:
Fire activity and spread has been reduced
considerably due to precipitation, cooler
temperatures, and light winds. |

New Superintendent Pflueger outlines vision,
goals in
speech to district employees: Gary Pflueger, the new Superintendent for
Boundary County School District 101, met with
all staff of the District yesterday, and there
presented an address outlining his vision and
goals for the school year, along with some of
his philosophy as Superintendent. |

Situation improving, overall fire danger
continues:
With recent rain and cooler weather, the
situation at Boundary County's Parker Ridge Fire
have improved. |

County. Paul Rawlings has announced an
all-original play, entitled Good Good Day: An
Evening of Words and Music, to be staged at the
Pearl Theater in mid October. |

An overnight trip to Missoula turned into a very productive
morning for the Badger cross country teams on Saturday. |

Badger Cross Country took the first trip to Farragut State Park
last Saturday to compete on what will be the district and state

Badger Cross Country at Post Falls Invitational:
The 2015 cross country season is officially underway. After
tolerating a week of heavy smoke, the rain finally came through
leaving outstanding conditions for running at Kiwanis Park in
Post Falls. |

Idaho rules require prospective wolf trappers to
successfully complete a Wolf Trapper
Certification course before they can purchase
wolf trapping tags. |
Fish and Game euthanizes bear in McCall area
believed to have bitten firefighter:
Idaho Fish and Game personnel trapped and
euthanized a male black bear in the McCall area
Wednesday, September 2 that is believed to have
bitten a sleeping firefighter on Tuesday night. |
