Badger Julia Cummings, the first and only
swimmer to date for Bonners Ferry High School,
is competing today in the District Swim Meet at
the Kroc Center in Coeur d'Alene. On Thursday,
she travels with Sandpoint High School to Boise
to compete in the Idaho State Meet.
A sophomore, Julia is a part-time student with
BFHS and part-time with the Idaho Virtual
Academy.
She began competing in swimming when she was
about eight years old, swimming for Carolina
Aquatics in Columbia, South Carolina for several
years before moving to Bonners Ferry.
She competes year-round for the club team with
the Sandpoint West Athletic Club under Mike
Brosnahan.
At the last swim meet on October 21 in Moscow
between Moscow, Coeur d'Alene, Lake City,
Sandpoint, and BFHS, she placed second in the
100 freestyle and second in the 100 backstroke. |
