By Principal Nathan Williams At Valley View Elementary School (VVES), we are thankful for such wonderful students, teachers and staff who go above and beyond daily for each other. Our school is an amazing place due to the people in it and we are also very fortunate to live and work in Bonners Ferry. Talking about electives, our wonderful PE teacher, Mrs. Petesch, is doing a great job this year at challenging both students and parents. She recently put together her first annual “bring a parent to PE day.” VVES had 40 parents take time out of their busy day to get active with their child during PE class. It was a great event and we look forward to doing it next year. In addition, Mrs. Petesch organized the annual Walk to School Day once again. There were 114 parents, students and staff who walked from the city parking lot to Valley View. Thank you to Mayor David Sims and Superintendent Gary Pflueger for joining us on our annual walk! The month of September we highlighted Madison Moon for being named the September Family Fitness Challenge winner and Brooke Petesch was the Be Fit BINGO winner for the summer. Congratulations to both! Every month at VVES we celebrate a different character trait and get the opportunity to highlight our wonderful students. The month of September we recognized the many students who display respect. The following students were recognized by their teacher and it is my privilege to honor the following children: Dakota Marrett, Eval Majeski, Megan Young, Aslynn Robbins, Colt Barras, Oriana Lopez, Eva Naranjo, Saoirse Heifner, Abby Pierce, Zane Owens, Kaelan Robbins, Dodge Jones, Piper Banning, Basil Michaels, Denver Barlow, Lexie Wells and Ayla Adams. Please congratulate all of these respectful students when you see them. VVES is a busy place and we have a lot of great things going on within our school.
