The event will also be the launch date for a new effort in Boundary County by Sheriff Dave Kramer to begin a county-wide Neighborhood Watch program, and officers will be emphasizing the benefits of neighbors looking out for neighbors, and of immediately reporting suspicious activity or crimes.
The symposium is designed to put residents of our community in touch with those who can provide the latest technology and crime prevention tools. Vendors have been invited to bring the latest in locks, alarm systems and other tools and to educate us with displays about the newest and most effective ways to keep ourselves and our families safe and free from crime.
Everyone will be encouraged to turn on outdoor lights at night, write down serial numbers of expensive items, photograph and or engrave personal property, lock windows, doors and cars, be aware of internet scams, protect against identity theft and make it much more difficult for you and your family to become victims of crime.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend ... and bring your neighbor!
