Early morning crash claims 23 year old |

The Idaho State Police responded to a
single-vehicle crash at about 2 a.m. today in
Coeur d'Alene that claimed the life of a Coeur
d'Alene man. According to the ISP, a black BMW was reported traveling eastbound on 4th Avenue approaching Seltice Way at a high rate of speed. The driver was negotiating a slight left curve when he drove the vehicle off the right shoulder and struck a large boulder, causing the car to roll. The vehicle came to rest in a field on the south side of the roadway. Derrick Starke, 23, Coeur d'Alene, was treated on scene for minor injures. Patrick Sparr, 23, also of Coeur d'Alene, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No seatbelts were in use. Investigation is ongoing. |
